Controller Setup
  • I am running the very most recent beta release of piplay. I have jumped through all the hoops, but now my controller configuration doesn't save. As far as I can tell it never even registers that I changed the controls. Is it because the controller setup lacks an "okay" option? All I see aside from "ALL" and "cancel" is the emulators list that also happens to be missing gba. The idea of this OS working properly is an incredibly sexy concept but I just cannot seem to get it working as you have created it to. Again, I am trying to save my controller changes I make when you press TAB, controller changes that never register. Any assistance would be appreciated, I cannot find a solution on the forums.
  • @spacecowboy. There is no 'OK' option. It just runs through the controls and then saves them. Which emulator(s) are you trying to configure?
  • If it's Final Burn Alpha, it uses the Arcade control setup. I made the mistake earlier thinking it would use the Neo Geo controller
  • I have tried nes gb ngpc gba and sega master system. I am using a usb super nintendo controller, fully functional and recognized by the pi. I used the main menu (tab) to pick the emu from the list and change buttons. I select cancel as that is the only way it lets me out of the list menu. I go to play and nothing is properly set as I had made it. Multiple attempts on multiple installs.
  • @spacecowboy - have you taken a look at any of config files to see if they have actually changed? The ngpc and sega master system should both be located in '/home/pi/.mednafen/' and labeled as sms.cfg and ngpc.cfg
  • I haven't, but I will now. I am having great difficulties finding documentation for the beta, so I am left to inquire here. Prior to this I used ChameleonPi, but thanks to a lack of recent dev (and little to no support for the b+) I am forced to try new things. I appreciate your help and responses and I will keep you posted.
  • yeah, right now we have been making so many changes, that we haven't bothered to keep up on documentation. The forums are the best way to get help.
